A long time ago, certain animals were given powerful abilities by the gods, but some misused them. One such figure was a fox spirit named Senzou, who became reckless and arrogant, leading to his imprisonment. After 300 years, he is freed under the condition that he must help a young tanuki named Manpachi become an assistant to the gods. Stripped of his powers until this task is complete, Senzou must now take on the role of a caretaker for the playful tanuki cub, learning responsibility or facing the possibility of remaining powerless.
