Amina, among the final practitioners of magic, suffers the loss of her loved ones during an assault on her palace. In an attempt to reverse time and prevent their deaths, she becomes trapped inside a lamp. Centuries later, Jakard, a military leader, discovers and releases her. He is granted three wishes before Amina must return to the lamp. The story explores the choices he makes with his limited opportunities.
