Mahoraba Eden

A master often speaks highly of his former disciple Ittetsu's abilities. When Yamato arrives at Ittetsu's village to escort him back to the Tenroku Monastery, he finds a monk who lacks discipline—sleeping in, ignoring Sutra readings, failing to remain silent during Zazen, and consuming alcohol. Yamato questions whether the Ittetsu he sees is genuine or an imposter. Convinced that the monk has strayed from his path, Yamato resolves to reform him during their journey. He wonders if Ittetsu was once truly gifted and what qualities earned him such praise from the master.
