In the 21st century, extraterrestrial beings coexist with humans on Earth. In a quiet town called Enohana, a financially struggling student named Chigasaki Mayuko shares a home with NieA, an alien belonging to the lower caste known as "Under Seven." While Mayuko works hard to manage their difficult circumstances, NieA appears indifferent to the impact of her behavior. Their contrasting attitudes create tension as they navigate life together, with the damaged alien spacecraft looming as a constant presence in the background.
