Touma Inaba, a student preparing for entrance exams at a prestigious Tokyo university, is interrupted at his hotel by Urara Kasuga, a girl he later learns is his cousin from childhood. Urara, who has feelings for him beyond familial bonds, offers him a place to stay. Before the exam, Touma meets Meiko Yotsuba, an attractive and refined woman also applying to the university. Meiko is accepted, but Touma is not, partly due to an illness Urara gave him. To gain Meiko's approval, Touma lies about being a Keio student. He becomes entangled in a romantic conflict between Urara and Meiko, while trying to maintain his deception and support Urara.
