A post-apocalyptic world requires appeasement of a monstrous deity. Saki, a girl resisting her predetermined fate, takes on a dangerous and unconventional job. She is selected to fulfill a grim duty: a princess must be sacrificed to the beast Yamata-no-Orochi during the 50-year Tenken Festival. Manaka, who loves her, attempts to rescue her from this fate, only to uncover the grim truth behind the ritual.
