When the eunuch Jinshi discovers that Maomao has uncovered the actual source of the "curse," she is elevated to lady-in-waiting and poison taster for the High Consort, Gyokuyou. Her coworkers are concerned about her reputation as a "pitiable poison taster," even if her pay has increased, and she has more spare time than ever before.
