He is a founding member of the jazz collective West Coast Get Down. He has achieved widespread acclaim and recognition for his work on Kendrick Lamar's modern masterpiece "To Pimp A Butterfly" as well as his own solo work, with seminal albums which had a major impact on the jazz-fusion scene like his 2015 masterpiece "The Epic". He is also a founding member of the neo-soul supergroup "Dinner Party" in collaboration with pianist Robert Glasper, multi-instrumentalist Terrace Martin, & soul hip-hop producer 9th Wonder. Recently, his works of note have included 2024's "Fearless Movement" with a wide array of collaborators including but not limited to founding father of funk George Clinton, hip-hop legend and flautist André 3000, and well-renowned bassist [Thundercat](https://anilist.co/staff/221889/Thundercat).
