Waikwan Suen
Hong Kongese animator and mangaka affiliated with ProMEtheus.
Influenced by manga in first grade of school, he aspired to become a manga artist after reading Doraemon. After graduating secondary school in 1987 he pursued the advertisement industry, where he made commercial illustrations and textbook illustrations.
After working in the advertisment industry for a while he would eventually turn to manga more, and in 1995 he won the Culturecom comics competition with the story "Wu Yuan". Later on in 1997 he also became the "Artist of Culturecom". His other works "The Legend of Sun Yat Sen" and "The Legend of Guan-Yin" would be highly recommended by educational organizations. His first serialized work was Investiture of the Gods, a remake published in 1997-2000.
Despite working as a manga artist for decades, he would also be pursuing animation in his free time since his twenties. After slowly publishing less and less manga, he would eventually swap to focusing more on animation and then debuted in the industry in 2024.
