Ao Oni The Animation

The film adapts elements from the original game, presenting a mystery horror story with a new plot distinct from prior versions. Set in a town near a mountain forest, five students in a high school folklore research club seek ideas for their cultural festival. They find old research notes from a former member, which reference a legend similar to the "Ao Oni" game. Inspired, they decide to base their event on the game and contact its creator, who dies under unclear circumstances soon after. While investigating the incident at school, the group suddenly becomes trapped inside when the doors lock.
