A new project celebrates Go Nagai's 50 years in creative work. Akira Fudou is informed by his friend Ryou Asuka that a long-forgotten demon species has reappeared to reclaim the planet from humanity. Ryou explains that the solution to fighting these demons is to harness their otherworldly abilities, proposing that Akira merge with a demon. Akira manages to become Devilman, combining demonic strength with human consciousness. The conflict involving Devilman and Akira Fudou commences.
