A new Digimon Egg appears online after the Adventure series concludes, spreading to computer systems across Japan. The hatched Digimon is classified as a Virus-type, feeding on data and evolving as it spreads chaos. Taichi and Koushiro respond by sending Agumon and Tentomon into the digital world to confront it. The threat escalates as the Virus gains control over systems, including the American military. Yamato and Takeru are brought in to assist in halting the growing danger and preventing it from affecting the real world.
