Gene Diver

A research facility known as Virtual Station collects and studies DNA to reconstruct the ancient world digitally. Yui is a Gene Diver who enters this virtual environment to retrieve DNA from extinct animals. During a maintenance cycle, she attempts to exit but is instead moved to a new virtual setting. This new world, created by a system now beyond control, features a species of intelligent rodents called puglaistig. They view humans as a major threat and work to prevent human development.
