Märchen Mädchen

A girl named Hazuki Kagimura often spends time alone and finds comfort in books, especially after difficulties with her new family. One day, a bookshelf at the library transports her to a magical school. There, she meets Shizuka Tsuchimikado and learns that the students, known as "mädchen," are chosen by classic fairy tales and folk stories to use their magic. The school includes girls selected by tales such as Kaguya-hime no Monogatari, Issun-boushi, Der Freischütz, Shuten-douji, The Little Matchstick Girl, The Gigantic Turnip, Arthurian legends, and The Ramayana. Hazuki is revealed to have been chosen by the story of Cinderella.
