A project was launched to ease the burden of elder care by developing a machine capable of providing full-time assistance without human involvement. The initiative initially gained support from many in the younger generation. When Mr. Takazawa becomes the first test subject for the Z-001, Haruko begins to doubt the hospital's methods and the ethical concerns surrounding the device. As she faces increasing opposition, she uncovers a strange feature of the machine: it contains a biochip that eventually gains independent thought.
