In a constructed subterranean civilization, a group of exiled descendants compete for dominance over the decaying city of Lux. Ichise, a former orphan and boxer, loses an arm and a leg after angering a fight promoter. Near death, he is rescued by a female doctor who uses him to test new Texhnolyze technology. Equipped with artificial limbs, he is adopted by Oonishi, a high-ranking figure in Organ, a faction with influence in Lux. As Ichise becomes entangled in the city's struggle for control, he receives cryptic guidance from Ran, a young girl who claims to foresee his future. Amid escalating conflict, Ichise seeks to understand Lux's secrets and secure his own survival while confronting his uncertain fate.
