A boy possesses an extraordinary singing ability and is raised in isolation by his blind mother in the mountains, who subjects him to rigorous training to prepare him for the imperial court. A tragic incident during this training leads to his mother's death, leaving him alone. He travels the land, his voice exploited by those with ill intentions, which takes a toll on his spirit. His talent eventually draws the attention of the princess of Xi You, leading him to perform at court as his mother had hoped. There, he competes in deadly musical contests for the amusement of the nobility. He later hears rumors of a notorious bandit known as the Sword Plundering Nemesis, who steals magical weapons.
