Versailles no Bara

A noblewoman raised as a man leads the palace guards at Versailles in the time leading up to the French Revolution. She is admired for her appearance and noble character, yet she struggles with the conflict between her commitment to duty and her personal emotions. Though she lives among the luxury of the French court, she remains aware of the suffering and poverty of the common people.
