Two pilots from rival nations, stranded in a desolate area near the Himalayas after being shot down, engage in a deadly gunfight. Their confrontation is interrupted by a tiger carrying a baby, prompting them to temporarily cease hostilities and save the child. After eliminating the tiger, they agree that the survivor will care for the baby before resuming their battle. The Japanese pilot wins the fight and takes the baby, only to discover it has a long tail. He names the child Rikiya, or Ricky, and raises him in Tokyo as a human, unaware of his true origin as a member of the "Zero Men," a subterranean society of squirrel-like creatures dwelling beneath the Himalayas.
