Kirisame ga Furu Mori

A young woman named Shiori Kanzaki, after the unexpected death of her parents, discovers a photo of a man she believes is her grandfather and journeys to Azakawa Village, his supposed hometown, to meet him. Upon arrival, she finds a small village with a museum she recognizes from her childhood. There, she meets Sakuma, a middle school girl who often gets into trouble, and Suga, the museum's unusual manager who communicates only through written notes. Suga reluctantly lets her stay and research her family. The village has a legend about "Kotori Obake," a demon woman who takes children into the nearby forest. Shiori begins to hear voices urging her to "Come fulfill the promise," raising questions about how the legend connects to her past.
