A global threat emerges as massive insects endanger human existence, and the only known defense is a group of individuals with unique abilities known as Butterflies. Maehwa Baek initially views these figures as distant heroes on television, but a personal tragedy leads him to the scientists responsible for their creation. As he becomes entangled in their world, he is forced to face unresolved aspects of his own past. He begins to question why he experiences a loss of control when exposed to his own blood and seeks to uncover the events from the thirteen years of his life that he cannot recall.
