In a world resembling the 20th century, a conflict rages between the Grand Duchy and the Empire against the Republic. Lieutenant Martina M. Mayakovskaya joins the Logistics Corps of the Grand Duchy, a military branch handling transport and supply, often dismissed as "paper soldiers." Her role is meant to involve routine paperwork, but she repeatedly finds herself in combat situations. Alongside her is an unusual eight-legged pseudoweasel, whose presence seems to coincide with moments where she avoids danger. The nature of their connection remains unclear.
