After leaving Kyoto Animation he primarily used the pen name Gorou Sessha and became well known for his work in the [Naruto](https://anilist.co/anime/20/) franchise. His directorial debut was [Naruto: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals](https://anilist.co/anime/12979/) which he directed from episode 27 onwards under the supervision of [Masahiko Murata](https://anilist.co/staff/102608/).
