Emi Kitagawa

In 21st Dengeki Novel Prize 2014, she won Media Works Bunko Prize with "Chotto Imakara Shigoto Yametekuru" and debuting with the same title next year.

On her inspiration to become an author—she said, "When I gave a speech at a friend's wedding, people told me how moving it was, and that made me think that a profession which utilize words might be fun." she also said that her experience working in Australia and Canada under the working holiday program and her strong feelings about the differences between working styles in Japan and overseas led her to write her debut novel.

When asked about the distinction between general literature and light novels, she said, "I didn't originally intend to write only light novels. I have submitted my works to general literature awards, and I don't distinguish between genres."
