The Band of Seven are foretold as mercenaries who slaughtered the warlords in the plains ten years past. However, the mercenaries were later beheaded by the soldiers in the mountains. Sango senses Kohaku in a forest nearby, only to recede, as the presence of Mukotsu, another member of the Band of Seven, is sensed.
