Yukari is unremarkable, neither standing out nor being targeted—he lives an ordinary life in a lower-middle-class background. On the night before his sixteenth birthday, he finally musters the courage to confess his feelings to Misaki Takasaki, his childhood crush. However, at fifteen, he is close to receiving a government-assigned marriage partner. Normally, he would not dare to break the law, but his assigned wife, Ririna, still believes in love and persistently encourages him to express his true emotions. The manga includes two distinct versions of the twelfth volume, focusing on Ririna and Misaki respectively, with the main story spanning 280 chapters across volumes 1–11, and additional chapters in volume 12, along with seven bonus chapters.
