Yoakemono

Gin and Jinrou are a pair of boys who work together in the mountains. Gin believes they must go to the capital and join the Shinsengumi to advance. However, they quickly realize they are not strong enough to deal with the people there. Some individuals, including existing Shinsengumi members, appear to Jinrou to have animal-like qualities and possess strange powers. Following Gin's death, Jinrou resolves to grow stronger and take his place by joining the Shinsengumi.
