Eto-shin are twelve divine messengers selected from Eto-musume, zodiac girl representatives of various animals, who have historically safeguarded Japan through a tournament called ETM 12, held every sixty years. These messengers are revered and must be earned through competition. In the current year of the tournament, many Eto-musume gather, including Nya-tan, a cat Eto-musume considered a top contender. Despite her potential, she is frequently hindered by malevolent rodents. To become an Eto-shin, an Eto-musume must defeat all current messengers, a feat no one has accomplished in two millennia due to their immense power. Nya-tan's journey takes a new turn when she encounters Takeru Amato, a regular high school student.
