Shy student Ayumi Nonomura and quiet classmate Tatsuki Iizuka get lost on the large Kamizono Academy campus on their first day. They encounter Torako Kageyama, a strong-willed and energetic girl, and her close friend Suzume Saotome. Guided—often forcefully—by Torako, the group navigates challenges related to school, family, and growing up.
