Kin no Kuni Mizu no Kuni

Two kingdoms, the Gold and the Water, once engaged in numerous conflicts, eventually built a wall to separate their lands. A century later, they fulfill a prior agreement to promote peace by arranging a marriage between the most beautiful girl from the Gold Kingdom and the most intelligent man from the Water Kingdom. Instead, the Gold Kingdom selects Sara, a kind but unattractive princess, and the Water Kingdom chooses Naranbayar, a scholar from a humble background. Each is also given an animal companion—Sara a dog and Naranbayar a cat. As they navigate the political challenges within their respective courts, their stories eventually intersect, leading to an unexpected and touching development.
