兩個王國，黃金王國與水之王國，曾經屢屢發生衝突，最終興建了一道牆來分隔彼此的領土。一個世紀後，為了促進和平，雙方履行先前的協議，安排黃金王國最美麗的女子與水之王國最聰明的男子結婚。然而黃金王國卻選擇了善良但不漂亮的公主莎拉，水之王國則選了出身寒微的學者納蘭拜亞。雙方也各自獲得了一位動物夥伴——莎拉得到一隻狗，納蘭拜亞則得到一隻貓。當他們各自在宮廷中應對政治上的挑戰時，他們的故事最終交織在一起，引發了一段意想不到且溫馨的發展。
