Takeo Gouda is large in stature and kind-hearted, but he struggles to attract the attention of girls, who often prefer his good-looking friend Sunakawa. He has grown accustomed to being overlooked and accepts his situation without complaint. His life changes when he intervenes to help a girl named Yamato on a train, where she is approached by a harasser. Their paths cross again later, and Takeo begins to develop feelings for her.
