A boy who could see demons from an early age was often isolated and mistreated by those who couldn't perceive them. Rather than fear them, he formed bonds with the demons, growing fond of their presence. He learned of a powerful demon known as the ogre-eating Tengu and became fascinated by the idea of meeting such a being, whom he decided to name Haruka. Determined to find this demon, he searched for years without success. To support himself, he became a writer of folklore and a demon hunter. During one of his assignments, he discovered a shrine believed to be the site where the ogre-eating Tengu was sealed.
