Gorae Byul

In 1926, during Japan's colonial rule of Joseon, Su-A Heo is a handmaiden who works and swims by the sea. Her routine is disrupted when she finds an injured independence fighter, Ui-Hyeon Kang, on the shore and tends to him. After an unsuccessful murder attempt by Hae-Su Song, a comrade of Ui-Hyeon, Su-A loses her voice. She travels to Gyeongseong, seeking revenge, and becomes increasingly involved in the unfamiliar world and its people.
