A boy named Ryotaro, who has a passion for robots, lives in the countryside with his three sisters and is about to move to Tokyo for high school. Before departing, he stumbles upon a humanoid military robot and meets its pilot, a teenage girl who introduces herself as La Vie en Rose. Due to his family's involvement in the development of such robots—his father was associated with their production—Ryotaro is likely to cross paths with her again in Tokyo.
