Composer and musician represented by VV-ALKLINE since 2017. He was previously with Legendoor from 2006 to 2017.
Sawano began practicing the piano at an early age, and studied composition, arrangement, orchestration, and piano under Nobuchika Tsuboi from the age of 17.
Active as a composer since 2004, he first gained recognition for his work on the Team Medical Dragon TV drama in 2006. He made his debut as an anime composer in 2006 on [Soul Link](https://anilist.co/anime/854/). In 2009, he released his first solo album *musica*, which included some of his more popular songs done for TV shows. In 2014, he launched a new vocal song project under the name "SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]", producing the first album *UnChild* with [Aimer](https://anilist.co/staff/107859/) as the vocalist under the name SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Aimer. Since then his songs under this vocal song project have also been used as the opening and ending themes for various anime.
He has cited [Joe Hisaishi](https://anilist.co/staff/100738/), [Youko Kanno](https://anilist.co/staff/95508/), [Hans Zimmer](https://anilist.co/staff/104669/) and Danny Elfman as major inspirations.
