Manaka's dedication to instrumental mastery motivates others to improve their skills. Retsuko asks Haida to teach her guitar, and he agrees despite Fenneko's caution. Retsuko arrives on the same day Inui visits for dinner, learning the F chord before leaving. Inui then arrives and prepares the meal. Haida acts more awkwardly around Inui than with Retsuko. When Inui finds Retsuko's pink handkerchief in the bathroom, she abruptly leaves without eating. Before departing, she directly asks Haida if he likes her as much as she likes him.
