Hyodo takes Manaka to a karaoke bar for song practice, where he unexpectedly hears Retsuko singing death metal. The following day, he announces the idol group's genre shift and names Retsuko as the lead vocalist. Retsuko initially refuses, wishing to keep her singing style secret. She seeks encouragement from Washomi and discovers that Haida is seeing Inui. During the concert that night, Hyodo insists on playing the new song, which pressures Retsuko into finally accepting the role of lead singer for the idol group.
