Izumi Shimomura recovers and reveals herself to be an Ajin, deploying her Black Ghost to destroy the one sent by Koji Tanaka that killed her. The two Black Ghosts battle, with Izumi Shimomura’s entity emerging victorious. During the conflict, Sato abducts Eriko and claims he wishes to help Kei. Kei resolves to contact other hidden Ajin, but Sato reaches out first, and they arrange a meeting. Kei departs while Kaito sleeps to meet Sato. Before Kei can determine if he trusts Sato, he is struck by a tranquilizer dart. Sato concludes that Kei is inexperienced and requires education.
