Yona’s resolve to join the pirates prompts Captain Gigan to issue a daunting test. She must retrieve the Senjuso plant from a steep cliff without assistance. While climbing back, a sudden wave nearly sweeps Yona into the sea. She clings to a tree root until Jae-ha arrives to pull her to safety. Yona later confesses to Captain Gigan that she received help. She insists on repeating the task alone to prove her worthiness. Captain Gigan laughs at her honesty and determination. He decides that Yona is sufficiently worthy to join the pirate crew despite the assistance. This decision concludes her trial and secures her place among the group.
