Karada prepares breakfast and bentos for a beach trip with her brother Hiro, meeting the Amino siblings Tetsumasa and Touko at the station. They are surprised by the presence of Nogami Shouko, who remains distant during the journey. Shouko had returned to Japan to start over, and her encounter with Hiro was unplanned. At the beach, it is revealed that Karada will soon enter middle school despite her small stature, a fact that attracts Tetsumasa’s affection. Shouko knew Hiro in America, leading Touko to speculate about a past romance. Karada senses tension but is told to wait until she is older. Hiro buys Karada white bows, which Shouko dismisses as childish, causing Karada to run off. Later, Hiro and Shouko discuss their past; Shouko expresses regret over not knowing Hiro’s preferences and accuses him of leaving her. After slapping Hiro, she flees. Shouko and Karada meet by the wishing stone, where moonlight causes them to switch ages.
