Ep. 1: Nadna Applefield receives birthday gifts revealing her mother's survival before arson

Nadna Applefield and the Applefield Orphanage are introduced. Nadna is summoned to receive a package of gifts for her 13th birthday, which includes a dress and a diary. She reads in the accompanying letter that her mother is still alive. Meanwhile, the arrival in town of the Dandelion Troupe for a dance performance is misinterpreted by two goons, Rosso and Bianco. They set fire to the orphanage.
