Ep. 1: Young Boruto defends Denki and prevents a train collision before the Academy entrance ceremony.

Before his conflict with Kawaki, Boruto Uzumaki and Shikadai Nara ride a train while discussing the upcoming Academy entrance ceremony. Boruto intervenes when he witnesses Denki Kaminarimon being bullied, encouraging the boy to confront his wealthy father, who controls the Hidden Leaf's train system. Denki attempts to assert himself but is rejected by his father, who demands strength for approval. The following morning, Boruto rushes to the ceremony and finds Denki influenced by a dark aura. Denki manipulates a broken train car to crash into another, intending to frighten his bullies. Boruto snaps Denki out of his trance and averts the disaster, though the train strikes the Hokage monument. The two boys reconcile and attend the Academy together the next day.
