The U20 tournament starts with the Cray Scramble, where competitors are dispersed across a virtual field mimicking planet Cray. Fighters must locate and defeat opponents to earn points, with the first sixteen teams reaching fifty points advancing to the next round. Defeated participants are temporarily out but can return if a teammate wins. During this phase, Chrono encounters Team New Nippon, a group modeled after Team Nippon, and defeats their leader, Arata Nishizawa. As the first day concludes, the other participants are shocked to discover that Onimaru’s Team Diffrider has already qualified, having defeated Shion and Tokoha along the way.
