Ep. 13: Chihaya collapses at Ōmi Jingū while Arata reflects on his grandfather's legacy

During the national tournament's first round, Chihaya experiences alternating sweats and chills before passing out at Ōmi Jingū. Her team forfeits her match but proceeds with the round. Arata arrives at the venue, recalling his grandfather who coached him through a stroke, lost his lucidity, and forgot karuta. The grandfather regained clarity to command Arata to compete, leading to Arata’s Class A promotion before dying from another stroke. Praised by an official who assumes he is competing, Arata imagines confessing his love for karuta to his late grandfather. Meanwhile, the team informs Chihaya that Komano won two consecutive matches to reach the playoffs before losing to Fujisaki.
