Yuuta Togashi attempts to leave his past delusions behind as he begins high school. On his balcony, he encounters Rikka Takanashi, a girl displaying similar chuunibyou symptoms. At school, Rikka identifies Yuuta as her soulmate after overhearing his attempts to discard his old persona, though he remains uninterested. Because Rikka recently moved in with her older sister Touka in the apartment above Yuuta’s, the teacher assigns Yuuta to escort her home. During the move-in process, Yuuta assists Rikka with her belongings. Ultimately, Rikka persuades Yuuta to keep his discarded items rather than throwing them away, preventing a complete break from his former self.
