At school, Rikka identifies Yuuta as her soulmate after overhearing his attempts to discard his old persona, though he remains uninterested. Because Rikka recently moved in with her older sister Touka in the apartment above Yuuta’s, the teacher assigns Yuuta to escort her home. During the move-in process, Yuuta assists Rikka with her belongings. Ultimately, Rikka persuades Yuuta to keep his discarded items rather than throwing them away, preventing a complete break from his former self.
2EP 2Rikka finds a stray cat she calls a chimera while Yuuta feels awkward around Shinka Nibutani.
Oct 11, 2012Rikka discovers a stray cat she identifies as a chimera but cannot keep it in her apartment because Touka is allergic to cats and Yuuta refuses to take it in. Yuuta feels nervous around class president Shinka Nibutani, and the situation becomes more awkward when Rikka appears. Later, student Kumin Tsuyuri asks about the cat because she lost her own. Yuuta and Kumin visit Rikka’s apartment, which is filled with oddities, but the cat is not Kumin’s. Touka punishes Rikka for bringing the cat inside and demands Yuuta get rid of it, threatening to expose his chuunibyou behavior if he refuses. Rikka runs off with the cat while Yuuta takes the audio evidence to escape Touka, but they are both caught. Yuuta eventually agrees to take in the cat.

Yuuta initially denies any desire to join, but his resolve weakens when Shinka decides to become part of the group as well.

Oct 25, 2012Yuuta invites Shinka to his home on Sunday to investigate her club membership motives, while sending Rikka and Sanae away. Shinka frantically searches Yuuta’s room for a book belonging to Sanae, only to discover the "Mabinogion" is actually her own chuunibyou journal from her Mori Summer phase. She burns the book to destroy evidence of her embarrassing past, revealing her true reason for joining the group. However, she is shocked to find Sanae possesses multiple copies. When Sanae refuses to believe Shinka is the real Mori Summer, Yuuta advises her to appeal to the delusions. Overwhelmed by the pressure, Shinka reluctantly agrees to remain in the group until she can eliminate all remaining evidence.

A classmate discovers the list, prompting Makoto to confess to protect other boys, which results in him shaving his head as an apology. He later waits at the designated meeting spot for the letter’s author, but no one arrives. That evening, Touka approaches Yuuta and invites him to join her and Rikka for their upcoming summer vacation.

Yuuta and Rikka remove magical items from her room to prepare for her mother's arrival, causing Yuuta to question his actions. Later, while Rikka visits her father's grave, Sanae confronts Yuuta regarding his refusal to accept her delusional nature. Although Yuuta shares her sentiment, he lashes out at Sanae, believing that admitting the truth would be unwise.
