The King and Queen, pleased with Prince Charles for stopping Duke Zarel, host a ball to help him find a fiancée. Cinderella is invited alongside her stepsisters and stepmother. While dressing her family, Cinderella retrieves her deceased mother's favorite dress. Her family mocks her appearance, tears her invitation, and forbids her from attending, crushing her hopes of seeing Charles. Paulette, the Fairy Godmother, magically updates Cinderella's attire and hair, providing a carriage and animal footmen. At the ball, Cinderella dances with Prince Charles, who fails to recognize her. She flees at midnight, leaving behind a glass slipper.
