Jun'ichi experiences a premonition while searching for Nemu in the rain. Aisia accompanies him to town to alleviate his depression, where she encounters Kotori and learns about the nature of lovers. Following a heated argument with Nemu, Jun'ichi confronts Dr. Akishima. The doctor reveals that Nemu thought of him deeply during the two years she lived outside of Hatsune-Jima. She wrote letters detailing her hard work at Nursing College but never sent them to avoid worrying him. Jun'ichi finally resolves his behavior after learning these truths about her silent devotion and efforts.
