In a distant future, humanity faces extinction due to an invasion by mysterious life-forms known as the Gadoll. Survivors reside within the moving fortress Deca-dence, maintaining a desperate resistance against their enemies. Natsume, a young woman who has always dreamed of becoming a fighter, is assigned to work under Kaburagi, an armor-repairman who is both hard-nosed and apathetic. Consequently, she spends her days overwhelmed by endless cleaning routines rather than engaging in combat. However, her perspective shifts dramatically when she becomes involved in a battle with the Gadoll during her work. Witnessing Kaburagi effortlessly defeat one Gadoll soldier after another reveals a hidden depth to his character and challenges her understanding of the war effort.
